Organizations need to cherish and develop their talents in order to find new opportunities and new solutions in an environment that becomes more complex and changes faster than any time before. This workshop is about what we can learn from Walt Disney, world’s most successful entertainer in many ways, on managing creative processes and enabling innovation. A “behind the scenes” look at the consistent strive for excellence, offering a mirror to current talent developers and creative leaders that are critically looking to build innovative organizations.
At the heart of Disney’s unparallelled success was an uncompromising urge and determination to change his industry and to create and surpass new boundaries. Amongst his innovations: cartoons with sound and colour, feature animation, multi-plane camera, theme park concept, audio-animatronics, combining animation with live action, a wintersports resort concept and many more.
During this session we will look at the structure behind the strategy of this genius: What can we learn from his way of thinking? What thinking strategy led to these innovations? How did he manage his imagination? How can we apply the same principles? And we will also step into his footprints by applying Robert Dilts’ Disney Strategy, as described in his book Strategies of Genius (1994) to get an insight in the world of the dreamer, the realist and the critic.
This workshop serves anyone who wants to support talents, team leaders and coaches in your organization to strive for new and excellent ideas and encourage their imagination, offering them a structure to reflect upon their ideas from a practical and critical perspective. Discover how to help others and help your organization to achieve and manage a culture of innovation and excellence! No prior knowledge is required; do bring your ideas and dreams, and your imagination!
